How to Become a Hashtag Love Houston Guest Blogger
So you have a story idea that you think the readers of Hashtag Love Houston will enjoy? Great! Perhaps you should be a Hashtag Love Houston Guest Blogger. We’d love to hear from you! Perhaps it is a story about an amazing… but obscure BBQ place, a local hero who spends countless hours feeding Houston’s homeless, a band that you think is to good to miss or your “go to” place to relax in the Bayou City. The truth is…all of the above stories interest us as well as many more.
We are actively looking for content that profiles Houston’s interesting people, places and organizations. So grab your ipad, curl up in your favorite chair and share with us who…or what… you love about Houston. To maximize your chances for publication, make sure your submission is well written, contains three to five paragraphs with total of at least 300 words and has a eye catching feature image (think instagram). Above all, remember our HI2 rule… stories should be both Human Interest and Houston Interest. For example, ask how long your subject has lived in Houston, why they love the city and one or two of their favorite places.
When your story is finished, have a couple friends proof read it and then click on our story idea page to submit your story and photo. Be sure to include your email address…we may need to contact you for more information and we will send an email prior to publishing. All content and photos must be originals that you created or have the rights to use. Published stories will list the HLH Team as the author unless you are a regular contributor. A regular contributor is an author with six published stories within the last 3 months. Published stories from regular contributors may list the story author by name. Some editing may occur.
